Gombe SSG got pat on the back for Unimaid Gombe Study Centre.

The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has been eulogies for establishing the University of Maiduguri Centre for Distant Learning Gombe Study Centre, Gombe State.

Students Chairman of the University of Maiduguri Centre for Distant Learning Gombe Study Centre Malam El-Bashir Ibrahim gave this eulogy when he led a cross section of pioneer students to the office of the SSG on a courtesy visit.

The pioneer students who have just finish writing their final examinations told Prof. Njodi through El Bashir that they were in his office to thank him for making their dreams of becoming graduates a reality.

“But for the former Vice Chancellor who brought the University of Maiduguri Gombe study Centre to the state, many of us wouldn’t have attain this educational feat ” El Bashir was quoted as saying.

He said the entire students of the Centre will continue to remain grateful to the SSG for maximizing his office as a one time Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri to establish the Gombe Study Centre.

Responding the Secretary to the Gombe state government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi who was visibly happy to see the product of his effort, congratulated the pioneer students on their graduation and charge them to aspire for more academic laurels.

He said all over the world Open and Distant Learning Centres have proofed to be an effective medium through which millions of people across the globe acquired tertiary education.

Prof. Njodi said like any other certificate from a Nigerian University, the Certificates of Open and Study Centres are the same and therefore called on the graduating students to see themselves as full fledged graduates.

While appreciating the foresight of the students in remembering his efforts Prof. Njodi promise host the entire pioneer students to an occasion.
