The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi led Government Delegation to Lawishi Daji in Billiri Local Government to Condole with the Family of an Elder Statesman, Philanthropist, and renowned Farmer late Baba Walbit Lakuto who died at the age of 103 years after a brief illness.
Condoling the family the SSG described the death as a huge loss not only to the family but the state and country at large.
He said Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya was saddened on hearing the sad news adding that, his advise on how to improve farming will be greatly miss.
He recall how late Baba Lakuto strongly advised the present administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa to established a Fertilizer blending plants but, regret to say that ” now that the Fertilizer plant is established, Baba is no more to enjoy products of the plant.
He advised members of the mediate family to take heart as death is inevitable to all mortal.
Responding on behalf of the family, Magaji Lakuto and Mr Bibi Lakuto thanked the Governor for identifying with them at their moment of grief and appealed to the State Government to construct Lawishi Daji road to as mark of giving honour to their late father.
