Good afternoon all. Let me use this platform to respectfully express my heartfelt appreciation for your wonderful support during the just concluded meeting of the NEGF in Yola, Adamawa State(23-26,Nov.2020). Your uncommon commitment, teamwork and sacrifice are monumental and legendary.

You have all written your names in GOLD on the sands of history. You have exhibited outstanding qualities that our principals are happy and proud of. I urge you to keep up the tempo.

The North East must be transformed!. I make bold to commend the courage, resilience, outstanding leadership skills and qualities of our Governors. We shall continue to partner with them by providing the much needed support and encouragement. These,I must confess, were clearly exhibited in the conduct of all the SSGs.

The North East yearns for general sacrifice, resolves, understanding and most importantly, PRAYERS. The pathetic underdevelopment, masterminded destruction and economic collapse are indicators for a bleak future and therefore unacceptable!!. I want to put on record our unreserved appreciation of Governors Fintiri of Adamawa; Bala of Bauchi; Zulum of Borno; Inuwa of Gombe;Buni of Yobe; and Darius of Taraba States for their foresight, wisdom and genuine concern interests for the region. May Allah be pleased with them and continue to strengthen, guide, guard and protect them as they assiduously work to reposition the North East.

The pathetic situation of the North East deserves nothing less. To the Secretariat, I am particularly pleased with your wonderful commitment and sacrifice. Your tenacity and strength gives me the confidence and hope that the future of the North East is very bright. I am indeed very proud of you all. As for me, I remain most humbled and honoured by your collective understanding and support. The unity of purpose exhibited is quite extraordinary.

To the resource persons, NEDC,JAMB, RDPN, and SAFARI AIR, we say a big thank you for your quality and insightful contributions. We remain truthfully indebted. TOGETHER WE SHALL OVERCOME. While celebrating our successful meeting, we were rudely shocked by the NEWS of the sad incident of cowardly crime in which over 43 innocent farmers were slaughtered in their farms.

We unequivocally condemn this act of cowardice. We stand by the Governor, Government and the good people of Borno State. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We call on the Federal Government to do everything possible to bring the perpetrators of the heinous acts to Justice. We reject in totality where innocent and law abiding human beings are brazenly wasted in cold blood.

May the souls of the dead find eternal peace and rest in aljannatul firdaush. May Allah grant us all the courage and fortitude to bear the tragic death of our loved ones.
