
….As Adamu Yola Ture and Jordan Nwora Foundations zonal elite Basketball camp gets underway in Gombe.
Gombe State Commissioner for Information and Culture Julius Ishaya Lapes has tasked participants at the Adamu Yola Ture and Jordan Nwora foundations North East Elite Basketball camp to be discipline and exhibit a sense of sportsmanship while the talent hunt lasts.

The Commissioner stated this while addressing participants at the ongoing zonal elite Basketball camp talent hunt holding at the indoor sports hall in Gombe metropolis.
He said the present administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is committed to the development of Sports in the State as Government believes that sports is not only an employer of labour but a medium that engages the youths and keep them away from crimes and criminality.

The Commissioner said inspite of the havoc cause by the ongoing insurgency in the North East, the resilience of the people for a better tomorrow has remain steadfast and indomitable describing the courage by the organizers to host the camp in Gombe as brave and examplary.
The information and Culture Commissioner challenged the young Sports men and women from the six states of the North East to utilize what he describe as a golden opportunity to announce their arrival at the sporting arena particularly as it relates to Basketball.

Chief talent hunt and a certified National and International team Coach of Basketball Alex Nwora said the Adamu Yola Ture and Jordan Nwora foundations deemed it necessary to organise the North East elite Basketball camp in Gombe as a way of giving back to the society through sports.
He said, but for the scholarship he got through Sports to study in the United States of America which eventually made him a better person, life would have been nasty and unpleasant.
Nwora said the camp will ultimately provide the opportunity for young Basketball players who distinguish to get exposed and subsequently play for basketball teams across the world.
He commended the Gombe Gombe Government for hosting the tournament amidst social economic and financial challenges.
A Board member of the Nigerian Basketball Federation Col. Sam Amedu said aside from laying the foundation for prospective Basketball players to display their talents the clinic also provides the opportunity for basketball coaches to update their knowledge on the game.
The Basketball talent hunt which was organised by the Adamu Yola Ture in collaboration with Jordan Nwora foundation is for participants within the North East sub-region and is expected to last for the next three days.
