The Secretary to Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has enjoined the People of the State to imbibe the spirit of tolerance as a panacea to peaceful co-existence.
Professor Njodi made the call in a message to Commemorate the celebration of Eid- El-Kabir in Kaltungo Local Government Area of the State.
He equally called for prayers for leaders at all levels adding that for progress and development to take place in the State, people must remain prayerful and cooperate with government policies and programmes.
The SSG further prayed for peace in the State and country in general appreciating Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for investing so much in security which he said has paved way for the execution of meaningful projects across the State.
Professor Njodi had earlier joined Muslim faithfuls to observe the two Rakaat Prayer at the Kaltungo Central Eid ground, where he said it always gives him pleasure to commune with the people at the grassroot in moment like this.
He noted that, from the countenance of the People gathered in their thousands at the palace of Mai Kaltungo for the Celebration indicated that dispite economic challenges the People of Kaltungo are happy with the impact of Governor Yahaya’s administration especially in infrastructural development in the Chiefdom.
Addressing the gathering earlier, the Mai Kaltungo Engineer Saleh Mohammed who played host to the State Deputy Governor Dr, Manasah Daniel Jatau and other traditional title holders called on Government to support Cultural activities in Communities as a way of promoting integration and Unity in the society.
Engineer Saleh Mohammed also appealed to the State Government to engage the Federal Ministry of Water Resources through the Upper Benue River Development Authority to avail the People the benefits of Kaltungo Earth Dam build ten years ago.
The Occasion featured mini Durbar which was attended by the Deputy Governor, the SSG, Government officials, District Heads and well wishers of Kaltungo Chiefdom.
