Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya earlier today, led top government functionaries to the funeral prayer ( Janazah) of the late matriarch of Ali Kumo family, Hajiya Hauwa’u Ali Kumo who died yesterday Wednesday, 22nd September, 2021 in Gombe at the age of 84.

Former Governor of Bauchi State, Barr. Mohammed A. Abubakar, Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Commissioners, Special Advisers and PPS were among hundreds of sympathisers who attended the funeral prayer held at Bello Doma Mosque, Jekadafari Gombe.

Governor Yahaya had earlier in a message of condolence described the demise of Hajiya Hauwa’u as deeply painful, noting that she was an upright mother and family pillar, who lived an exemplary life characterised by service to Allah, family and humanity.

He lamented that although Hajiya Hauwa’u died at a time her elderly and motherly counsel and wisdom were most needed by her children, grandchildren and those around her, “We must take solace in the fact that she had lived to witness the growth and accomplishments of her children and left through them a lasting legacy which we would continue to cherish”.

The Gombe governor consoled Alhaji Muhammadu Ali Kumo and his siblings, Alhaji Adamu, Dr. Babawuro and Hon. Hamma Adama ( Dattuwa) as well as the entire members of Alin Kumo family to keep alive the memories and the legacies of honour their mother left behind.

He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and reward her good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
