Earlier today, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya attended the official commissioning of a Juma’at Mosque at the FCDA quarters in Jabi Abuja.

The mosque was constructed by a Qatari philanthropist, Sheikh Saleh Mahmud Ahmad Ameer, through the Qatar Charity organisation in Nigeria.

Governor Inuwa, who was special guest of honour at the occasion, called on the benefiting community to take ownership of the facilty and utilise it well, not only for prayers but as an Islamic resource center for teaching and learning of religious knowledge.

He commended Sheikh Mahmud Ahmad and the Qatar Foundation for their benevolence.

” I feel highly honoured to be part of this history as we witness the commissioning of this magnificent Mosque. I urge the Muslim ummah in this area to take ownership and make proper use of the Mosque to carry out meaningful activities that will promote the cause of the deen”.

“I got to know about Qatar Charity through a friend and Alhamdulillah the relationship has been beneficial. Recently over 400 projects were approved by the organisation across various communities in Gombe State, including construction of Mosques, drilling of boreholes and others. This affirms our administration’s productive engagement and collaboration with the QC as well as other international governmental and non-governmental organisations. We sincerely appreciate you and pray Almighty Allah to reward you abundantly”.

Both the donor, Sheikh Saleh Mahmud Ahmad Ameer and the country director of Qatar Charity Organisation in Nigeria, Sheikh Hamdi Asayyed were full of appreciation to Governor Inuwa for personally gracing the commissioning ceremony.

Governor Inuwa and other faithful later observed the Juma’at prayer at the Mosque, which was led by Sheikh Tajuddeen Muhammad Bello.

In his sermon, the Imam preached on the virtues of building a Mosque, citing several verses of the Holy Qur’an and hadiths of prophet Muhammad ( SAW).

“The most beloved of places to Allah is the mosque…Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise.”
