16 dead in Gombe cholera outbreak…..

…..As Gombe Government, NEMA distributes NFI’s to survivors.

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has disclosed the death of 16 persons as a result of cholera outbreak across 7 Local Government Areas of the State

Governor Inuwa Yahaya gave this disclosure while flagging off the distribution of preventive materials to survivors of this year’s cholera outbreak in the State.

Represented by the State Deputy Governor Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, the Governor express gratitude to the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA for thinking it wise to donate the items to the Gombe State Government for onward distribution to the affected individuals.

He maintain that his administration is more than ever before committed to the provision of quality and affordable healthcare education and Agricultural services among other vital areas of human needs.

“Our efforts so far in critical sectors of human endeavor is there for everyone to see feel and touch. In track record in health, education, infrastructural development is one that will continue to preoccupied the attention of my administration”.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya advise beneficiaries of relief not sell the materials as evident with past experiences.

The Director General of National Emergency Management Agency NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed said the donation of the relief materials forms parts of its constitutional responsibility to provide succour to Nigerians in distress.

Represented by the head of the Agency in Gombe State the D.G commended the perfect working relationship between the State Government and NEMA in the State towards bringing relief to distress individuals and communities in the State.

The Executive Secretary of Gombe State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Dr. Shuaibu Abdulrahaman said the Agency has been proactive on the preventive protocols of Cholera.

Represented by Dr. Maryam Abubakar the Executive Secretary of the Agency advise the citizens of the on the importance of personal and environmental hygiene saying that is about the sure way cholera prevention.

Earlier speaking the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA Abdullahi Haruna Abdullahi thanked the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA for providing materials to survivors of cholera in the State.

He disclosed that the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA under the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has been swift towards providing succour to communities in distress across the State and beyond.

Items distributed include: 39 cartons of dettol, 39 cartons of Izal, 39 cartons of bleach, 39 cartons of detergent, 800 packets of diapers, 1000 pieces of blankets, 1000 pieces of mattresses, 1000 pieces of plastic buckets, 1000 pieces of plastic plates, spoons nylon mats and mosquito nets.

The event was attended by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Commissioners, Special Advisers and other top Government functionaries.
