The Gombe State Government has express confidence in the capacity of traditional rulers to effectively deliver on responsibilities assigned by the state.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya represented by SSG Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi gave this assertion when he recieved report of the State committee on the distribution of palliatives to the poor and vulnerable across the State.

The Governor appreciated the chairman and members of the comnittee for keeping to the tenents of transparency and accountability as exampified by the conduct of state government in handling matters of public concern

He also cited the performance of the Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Abdulkadiri Rasheed as chairman of Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board which earned the state an award for the first time.
Presenting the report along with members of the committee Mai Kaltungo Engineer Saleh Mohammed said the committee adopt due deligence in carrying out it’s assignment by ensuring that the palliatves reaches the targetted population.
Engineer Saleh Mohammed explained that the committee also ensured that the 85, 300 bags of assorted grains were shared to the 1987 electoral wards in the state with each getting 27 bags.
He further told the Governor that a total number of 24 identified groups were catagorised and allocated 200, 100 and 50 bags respectively.
While appreciating the Governor for having confidence in the committee, Engineer Saleh Mohammed also commended him for giving them free hand and the enabling environment to successfully carryout their assignment.
It could recalled that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya inaugurated the 30 member Palliative distribution committee chaired by Mai Kaltungo Engineer Saleh Mohammed on 8th of September 2022 with three weeks delivery period.
