Christians have again been call upon to always give thanks to God in order to attract more of His favour and blessings.
Rev. Gideon Kwash of ECWA Church Amtawalam in Billiri gave the admonition during a thanks giving service of the Special Adviser to Governor Inuwa Yahaya on Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation (PIME) Prof. Namala Amuga Keftin Sunday.
The clergy who draw his text from the book of Psalms 116;12 with the topic, “Giving thanks to God for his grace upon our lives” said every believer should learn to appreciate God for his faithfulness in all circumstances.
The clergy enjoin Christians to emulate examplary disposition of the leper who came to show gratitude to God despite receiving his healing along with nine others.
He commended Professor Namala for returning to God to say thank you and also congratulate him for his well deserved appointment and for clocking thirty years in the institution of marriage praying God for more wisdom, strength and good health.
In a remark, the District head of Kalmai Mr. Ahmadu Zubairu thank Governor Muhammadu Inuwa for appointing one of their own as a special Adviser assuring that the appointee is one whom the community is proud off.
He extol the qualities of Professor Amuga whom he described as God fearing, truthful and a gentleman advising him to remain focus and upright in the discharge of his given responsibilities in order to justify the confidence repose on him by the Governor.
Responding, an elated Prof. Namala Amuga Keftin praised the Almighty God for seeing him thus far. He equally thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for finding him worthy to serve in his Governments assuring of his total commitment in the discharge of his assignment.
Amuga informed the people that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is with them and is poised to bringing development to the doorsteps of the people across the state.
He called on the people to continue to pray and support the policies and programme of the present administration.
Professor Amuga use the occasion to advise the youths in area to remain focus in their legitimate businesses while staying away from drunkenness and the consumption of illicit drugs.

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Dan Majen Gombe), has congratulated former Nasarawa State Governor, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, on his emergence as National Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), at the just concluded extraordinary national convention of the party.
The Governor, in a statement also felicitated with other national and zonal officers of the APC who were elected at the convention.
Governor Inuwa, particularly praised the leadership direction and guidance of President Muhammadu Buhari, which he said facilitated the consensus arrangement that produced the new crop of leaders of the APC and further consolidated the unity of the APC.
“The maturity displayed at the convention has demonstrated the spirit of unity of purpose and strong will of our members as well as indivisiblity of the force of our great party”.
“Special appreciation must go to our leader and amiable President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for providing leadership and guidance that saw to the successful and rancour- free conduct of the convention”.
The Governor also eulogised the caretaker/extraordinary national convention planning committee, headed by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State for successfully superintending over the affairs of the APC within the period of its stewardship and for strengthening unity, understanding and camaraderie among party faithful”.
While expressing confidence in the ability of the new NWC under the leadership of Sen. Abdullahi Adamu to strear the party to greatness, the Governor charged the new leaders to bring to bear their respective wealth of experiences to consolidate on the gains recorded so far and chart a new cause that will further boost the fortunes of the party and guarantee its victory in future elections.
Recall that out the 78 party officials elected during the convention, Gombe state produced 3, including Hamma Adama Ali Kumo (Deputy National Financial Secretary), Zainab Abubakar Alman (Zonal Women Leader) and Lamido Mohammed (Zonal Publicity Secretary).
The Governor urged the three officials of the party from Gombe state to demonstrate commitment in their new roles and to adequately represent the state, reminding them that the confidence reposed in them should be reciprocated with dedication and loyalty to the party and President Muhammadu Buhari.
Earlier on arrival at the Eagle Square, Governor Inuwa Yahaya proceeded to the Gombe State pavilion, where he was treated to a rousing welcome by delegates and supporters from the state who trooped in hundreds in solidarity with the Governor and the party.

The mosque was constructed by a Qatari philanthropist, Sheikh Saleh Mahmud Ahmad Ameer, through the Qatar Charity organisation in Nigeria.
Governor Inuwa, who was special guest of honour at the occasion, called on the benefiting community to take ownership of the facilty and utilise it well, not only for prayers but as an Islamic resource center for teaching and learning of religious knowledge.
He commended Sheikh Mahmud Ahmad and the Qatar Foundation for their benevolence.
” I feel highly honoured to be part of this history as we witness the commissioning of this magnificent Mosque. I urge the Muslim ummah in this area to take ownership and make proper use of the Mosque to carry out meaningful activities that will promote the cause of the deen”.
“I got to know about Qatar Charity through a friend and Alhamdulillah the relationship has been beneficial. Recently over 400 projects were approved by the organisation across various communities in Gombe State, including construction of Mosques, drilling of boreholes and others. This affirms our administration’s productive engagement and collaboration with the QC as well as other international governmental and non-governmental organisations. We sincerely appreciate you and pray Almighty Allah to reward you abundantly”.
Both the donor, Sheikh Saleh Mahmud Ahmad Ameer and the country director of Qatar Charity Organisation in Nigeria, Sheikh Hamdi Asayyed were full of appreciation to Governor Inuwa for personally gracing the commissioning ceremony.
Governor Inuwa and other faithful later observed the Juma’at prayer at the Mosque, which was led by Sheikh Tajuddeen Muhammad Bello.
In his sermon, the Imam preached on the virtues of building a Mosque, citing several verses of the Holy Qur’an and hadiths of prophet Muhammad ( SAW).
“The most beloved of places to Allah is the mosque…Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise.”

Seven weeks into the ongoing land verification and re-certification by the Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation PIME of the Gombe State Government, the Special Adviser to Governor Inuwa Yahaya on the Project Prof. Namala Amuga Keftin says the exercise has successfully issued 1,945 provisional clarence to some land owners in the State capital.
The affected land owners are those of GDP 16, 16A, 16B, 4, 4A, 5 and 12. He maintain that the exercise is aim at correcting the existing abnormal inherent in land administration in the State and to give security and value to individuals with land in Government GDPs.
Professor Namala Amuga Keftin says the Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation in conjunction with sister Agencies in the State will work in synergy to address all legitimate complaints by land owners in Government GDPs.
He called on the people of Gombe State to support the project as it is the intention of the present administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to bring sanity into public administration.
The Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has described the role of Faith-based organisations in the entrenchment of good governance and Public Security as a currency that cannot be overlooked, especially in the wake of socioeconomic and political uncertainties facing contemporary societies.
Professor Njodi stated this as a Guest Speaker at the Annual National Seminar of the Jama’atis Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (IZALA) in Jos the Plateau State Capital Thursday.
Represented by the Director-General Research and Documentation Government House Gombe, Dr. Muazu Shehu, the SSG noted in the background of his presentation that in the past ideas about development in Nigeria and Africa often ignores religion as matter of private belief.
He maintained that the crisis of the contemporary world can be solved through good governance and that religion in general and Islam in particular can help the world address some of the crisis associated with lack of good governance and insecurity.
Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi says the Islamic notion of good governance is based on the concept of ihsan which means doing good things.
He added that in the Quran Allah invites Muslims to do good.
Speaking further,the SSG remarked that good governance in Islam is quantitative and not mechanical and is embedded in seven fundamental principles which include; Rule of law, Khilafa (Leadership) Accountability, Transparency, Justice, Equity as well as Enjoying good and preventing evil.
He said achieving good governance in Islam brings about protection of life, prosperity, Justice, fairness and Equity while the reverse bring the direct opposite and much more calamity.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the confirmation of the appointment of Aminu Umar Yuguda PhD as substantive Accountant- General of Gombe State with effect from 21st March, 2021
The State Head of Service, Alhaji Bappayo Yahaya, who conveyed the Governor’s approval, said the decision, is in line with the powers conferred on the His Excellency by Section 208 (2) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ( as amended).
He said, during his 6 months service in acting capacity, Aminu Yuguda had performed credibility well and discharged his duties professionally.
It will be recalled that Mr Yuguda, was appointed Acting Accountant-General on 22nd September, 2021 following the retirement of the the erstwhile AG, Umar Babagoro Bello from the service.
Born on November 21, 1974, Aminu Yuguda obtained Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Masters ( MSc) degrees in Accounting from the University of Maiduguri as well as PhD from the University of Jos.
He is also an Associate Chartered Accountant, ACA and Fellow Chattered National Accountant, FCNA among others.

A political pressure group known as YADAK APC Forum in Shongom Local Government has pledge to effectively mobilize voters in the area to ensure the realization of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s re-election in the 2023 general elections.
To demonstrate this commitment, the forum Wednesday organise a sensitization and mobilization event at Boh the headquarters of Shongom Local Government which attracted personalities from within and outside the state.
Addressing the mammoth crowd that besieged the event, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya represented by the secretary to the State Government SSG Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi commended organisers of the rally for deeming it necessary to throw their weight behind the present administration in the State.
The Governor express gratitude to people of Shongom for their support encouragement and steadfastness to his administration.
Governor Inuwa appreciated their patience and understanding saying the recent award and subsequent signing of Filiya- Gwandu- Dwaja – Gundale road contract worth billions of naira is just one out of many projects bill for the area.
While assuring YADAK APC Forum of his administration’s support, the Governor invited them along with other supporters in the State to the government house for more ruburst engagement enroute the 2023 project.
Earlier speaking the Chairman of YADAK APC Forum, Mr.Langa Maku said the forum was established in 2015 with the aim of projecting the ideals of APC for continuous leadership in the State and the country.
Mr. Langa Maku explained that despite numerous challenges, the forum has maintained its commitment to the APC with the mandate of returning Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in the 2023 election so that he can continue to provide leadership and development in the State.
Other speakers at the event includes Commissioners of Information and Culture, Julius Ishaya Lapes, his counterpart in higher education Meshach Audu Lauco, Shongom Local Government Chairman Mr. Yohanna Nahari, the member representing Shongom in the State House of Assembly, Senator B. The UK government has assured Gombe State of partnership and support in areas of climate change mitigation, industrial development and tracking delivery in the implementation of its 10-Year development plan.
The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing gave this indication when she hosted Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at her official residence in Abuja.
The two leaders discussed variety of topics, including governance, investment, peace and security, education and environment among others.
The British envoy particularly noted that Gombe State is relatively secure and peaceful, commending the Governor for his visionary leadership and ensuring excellent inter-communal relations with Muslims and Christians working positively together in his state.
” I feel very impressed with His Excellency’s vision and his commitment to delivering for his people and I think this is the area where UK and Gombe State Government will collaborate”.
The British High Commissioner also commended Governor Inuwa for aligning his 10-Year development plan with the sustainable development goals, and assured that the UK government will assist his efforts in tracking delivery and monitoring of progress through sharing of experience and other mechanisms of support.
On the Muhammadu Buhari industrial park being set up by Governor Inuwa in Dadinkowa, Mrs Liang said: “the establishment of an industrial park linked directly to hydro electricity to take care of agricultural processing on local crops is a laudable and positive step. We hope to hear more about it so that we can connect some British investors to take advantage of it”.
” On the issue of climate change, I think you got very interesting initiative. So we are going to connect His Excellency’s team with our relevant departments dealing with different sources of climate finance”.
Mrs Laing indicated the willingness of her country to take part in the upcoming Gombe State Investment Summit.
” I understand there’s plan for an investment summit in Gombe in May, so I think that will be the next stage where we’ll encourage some representation from our department of international trade to get there and start looking at particular areas around the industrial park and the climate change, while on the delivery module we can start in earnest to share our ideas”.
Earlier, Governor Inuwa Yahaya informed his host that Gombe has developed its 10-Year Development Plan, christened Development Agenda for Gombe, DEVAGOM along with a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (2021-2030) which sets the path to achieve rapid physical, social, and economic growth in the state in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
“The document identifies five development pillars upon which DEVAGOM revolves; a strategic linkage of socio-economic and administrative anchorage that is also built on the model of the UN’s SDGs as a global trend.
“The pillars are those of Economic Development, Infrastructure Development, Social Development, Sustainable Development and Governance, Administrative and Institutional Development pillars.
“Each of the pillars has a wide range of underlying activities that border on the greater good of the people as government performs its duties within some basic institutional framework detailing the policy thrust, policy target and policy objectives and overall betterment of the people”.
He therefore requested for the UK Government’s support in the effective implementation of the plan and tracking progress towards achieving the set goals.
“Gombe state is currently setting up a Coordinating Research & Economic Intelligence Unit (CR/EIU) with the mandate to track our performance and progress towards achieving the goals of the DEVAGOM which will serve as guide for decision making by the Government, Stakeholders, Policy Makers, and the Public. We are therefore requesting the support of Her Majesty’s Government in building the data capacity for the unit to enable this tracking and as well as to strengthen technology driven Governance”.
The Governor also solicited for support and partnership with the UK to catalyze the efforts of his administration to manage the impact of climate change and towards coming up with climate mitigation strategy for Gombe State with a focus on community adaptation, infrastructure, low-cost climate appropriate technologies and regenerative agriculture.
He said, ” In Gombe State, we have a home-grown and community driven initiative that we call Gombe Goes Green ( 3G) which targets the planting of at least 1 million trees per annum to address deforestation and check the advancement of sahara desert while mitigating climate change”.
“Gombe is also battling with devastating impact of land degradation with about 210 active gullies, though we have tackled some through NEWMAP and intend to do more under ACreSAL. All these require more intervention through partnership with the UK government “.
Governor Inuwa also intimated the High Commissioner on the 1000 hectare Muhammadu Buhari industrial Park and the need to green the park as well as other industrial clusters in the state, even as he notified her of the forthcoming Gombe State Investment Summit, coming up in May this year.
The Governor was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Muhammad Gambo Magaji and Special Adviser on Budget Planning and Development Partners Coordination, Dr. Ishiyaku Mohammed.

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has commiserated with the Dumbu community over the loss of Eight persons in a ghastly motor accident.
The accident occurred when a driver of a car conveying some wedding guests from Lano lost control and ran unto people standing by the road side.
Represented by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Governor described the incident as unfortunate.
He prayed God to grant those nursing injuries as a result of the accident speedy recovery and the grieving families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“As Muslims, may we take solace in the fact that it was God who give and take life at anytime he so pleases so the Governor to whom am representing here in Dumbu village shares in your grief”.
Responding on behalf of the grieving families, Malam Ya’u Sarkin Noma who lost 4 of his siblings described the incident as one of the shocking moment of his life.
He however thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for deeming it necessary to send a high profile Government delegation to sympathise with the entire Dumbu community
“So for me, this visit signifies the love and care the Governor has for everyone in the State especially the people of Dumbu community and to say the least am highly relieved”.
The Chairman of Yalmatu Deba Shuaibu Umar Galadima and an APC chieftain Buba Sheru encourage the people of Dumbu to take solace in the Almighty Allah who is the giver and taker of life.
From Dumbu the Governor’s representative proceeded to Billiri town to with Mohammed Abubakar a former chairman of the Association of Pensioners in the State chapter who died recently.
Conveying the Governor’s condolence message the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi says Governor Inuwa Yahaya received the news of the Mohammed Abubakar with great shock and sadness.
He said the quality and character of the deceased has always been depicted in his struggle to satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the State especially Pensioners.
Cash donations were given to the grieving families in Dumbu and Billiri as Special prayers were offered for the departed.

The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi says the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is committed towards bequeathing a State that bears all the hallmarks of a sustainable social economic and infrastructural development.
The Secretary to the Gombe State Government gave this indication when he granted audience to Gadam Community led by its district head Mohammed Usman Gadam.
Professor Njodi thanked the Gadam Community for keeping faith with the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in its desire to transform the State.
On the request by the Gadam Community for the creation of Bolewa Emirate and the upgrade of its maternity clinic to a General Hospital as well as the provision of water and more road networks, the SSG assures the Community that he will forward their request to the appropriate authorities with a view to addressing them.
Earlier speaking Professor Mohammed Mahmood Baba said they were at the Government House to commend Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his incredible performance towards uplifting the social economic and infrastructural dimensions of the State.
He said the Gadam Community is in full support of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s policies and programmes and will therefore queue behind the second term bid.
Professor Mahmood Baba thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for appointing the people’s choice as District Head, the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission and a khadi among other positions.
He however appeal to the Gombe State government to consider the creation of Bolewa Emirate, upgrade of the Community Maternity Clinic to a General Hospital as well as the supply of water and road network within Gadam Community.
The spokesman of the community use the visit to extol the virtues of Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi noting that his track records has continually set him above his peers.
The District head of Gadam equally thank Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for initiating projects that have direct bearing on the live of the citizens of the State especially the people of Gadam District.
He described the relationship between the present administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the Gadam Community as rock solid.
As a mark of honour to the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, the Gadam Community announced the conferment of a traditional title of “Mukaddam Gadam” on Professor Njodi.
