APC Membership Registration/ Revalidation: Gombe Governor Hosts Stakeholders’ Meeting.

…Says Party United, Waxing Stronger

Preparatory to the commencement of the All progressives Congress’ Membership Registration/Revalidation exercise in Gombe State, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya earlier today hosted a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss modalities for a hitch-free exercise scheduled for 9th to 23rd of this month.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Yahaya underscored the importance of the exercise, which he noted presupposes that all legitimate members of the party must as a matter of urgency register to participate in the party’s activities.

He said contrary to the position of the naysayers, the APC in Gombe State has tremendously grown in membership and strength, describing the total number of registered members in the last registration of the party as overwhelming.

The Governor expressed confidence that the membership revalidation exercise will produce more members than before, calling on supporters of the APC in the state to come out enmasse and participate.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya said “in politics, one cannot assume the reign of power unless he or she displays the capacity of having and controlling a sizeable number of a given population”, saying the APC in Gombe State can boast of having more than 75 percent membership of the total electorate in the state.

“The doors of the APC in Gombe State are wide open to all and sundry for the registration and revalidation exercise, we won’t conduct the registration or revalidation based on faction or individual politician, my kind of political ideology is devoid of deceit and discrimination”.

He recalled the collective struggle and political ingenuity the APC in the State deployed to wrestle power from the immediate past administration of the PDP, describing the resilience, solidarity and political patronage enjoyed by the party in the last general election as unprecedented.

The Governor told the committee on membership registration and revalidation exercise that considering the larger followership the party enjoys in the state, the one hundred membership card per polling unit is grossly inadequate.

“The membership of the APC in the State is so large and the materials brought for the exercise will not be enough but we shall remain calm and hopeful that additional materials will be brought in to capture our teeming party faithful”.

He said the exercise will not exempt or discriminate against anyone but rather create a level playing ground for everyone to actively participate in order to boost the party’s numerical strength and fortunes ahead of future electoral contests.

The Governor reminded the stakeholders that the exercise is a precursor to ward Local, State and National Congresses which provides for the election of officials that will lead the party at all levels.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya assured that the exercise will be peaceful, calling on stakeholders to conduct theselves in line with the laid down rules and regulations.

Chairman of the Gombe State APC Committee on Membership Registration/Revalidation, Dr. Danjuma Dabo said the exercise becomes necessary in order to update the party’s register and bring it up to speed with current political trends.

He said the registration is free of charge and will be opened to potential and interested members in the State irrespective of status, saying the committee will embark on training of registration officers who will in turn cascade the training to ward and local government supervisors for the smooth conduct of the exercise.

The Gombe State caretaker chairman of the APC, Mr. Nitte Amangal had appealed to party supporters in the State not to treat the exercise with levity as it is the gateway to future electoral victories.

Some dignitaries who threw their weight behind the membership revalidation included the Senator representing Gombe South, Sen. Bulus Amos, Member representing Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency, Hon. Aishatu Jibir Dukku, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr. Hajara Salim and APC stalwart, Alhaji Abubakar Muazu, Yariman Kashere.

What Gombe SSG told Pensioners in the state.

“Blaming the Inuwa Yahaya administration for non-payment of your liabilities was not fair owing to the fact that it is common knowledge to all that the immediate past administration squandered N59.6 billion of bailout funds meant for the payment of pensions, gratuities and salaries without addressing the real issues up to the time it left office.

“This is apart from so many anomalies that are recorded about State and Local Government civil servants which include ghost workers among many others and which the present administration is committed to addressing.

” So, we appeal to you to exercise patience and remain calm as the Government is not unmindful of your plight and we are committed to addressing and changing things for the better since the current government was voted based on its promise to change things for the better”.

National President of Nyuwar Community Development Association Showers Encomium on Gov. Inuwa over Reconstruction of Abandoned Cottage Hospital.

The National President of Nyuwar Community Development Association, Mr. Galiyos Zullums has described the ongoing renovation of the 35 year old cottage hospital in Nyuwar district of Gombe State by the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as a demonstration of exemplary and selfless leadership that must be supported and commended by all and sundry.

Mr. Galiyos Zullums stated this while addressing Journalists on the renovation work currently going on at the hospital and the ecstasy that greeted the community as a result of the complete overhaul of the health facility.

“This briefing calls for sober reflection because it is on record that Nyuwar community had on several occasions written to past administrations in the State soliciting for their intervention towards the renovation of the hospital but all pleas fell on deaf ears. However this administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya even without a request, surprised the people of Nyuwar by embarking on the complete overhaul of the hospital built since the Tatari administration in the old Bauchi state. So this to us, is a dream come true”.

The National President of Nyuwar Community Development Association who recalled with nostalgia the functioning days of the cottage hospital said the facility was a beacon of medical service to the people of Nyuwar, Jessu, Cham, Degri and other adjoining communities, including those in Adamawa State.

“The hospital was well built and structured and the services were top notch, people came from far and near to seek for medical attention, I also did patronize the hospital at my youthful age but due to gradual neglect of the facility things took a dip to the extent that some portions of the hospital were over taken by dangerous reptiles”.

Mr Zullums revealed that the Nyuwar community made several advances to the State and even Federal Government but to no avail, describing the sudden renovation of the health facility by the present administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as a soothing relief.

He said the people of Nyuwar are still in disbelief knowing fully well how previous administrations treated their pleas for the renovation of the hospital with disdain.

“As the National President of Nyuwar Community Development Association, I was in the community to see things for myself and I can tell you that the pulse of the people is that of a grateful heart to the present administration of Governor Yahaya”.

He said experience has taught him overtime that most administrations in the country will only attend to the needs of the people after too much politicking and lobbying, saying in the case of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya the reverse is the case.

He commended the Gombe State Governor for his interventionist efforts and called on the people of the area to support him for more dividends of democracy.
