Gombe State Government has begun the payment of compensation to individuals who’s lands have been affected as a result of the establishment of the Gombe industrial park.
A total of 700 persons from adjoining villages in Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area are benefiting from the State Government’s gesture of ensuring that no land owner is short-changed.
Chairman of the compensation committee and Commissioner of Finance, Malam Muhammad Gambo Magaji said the compensation is only paid to individuals with pieces of land at the Industrial park site for their support and willingness to hand over their property to the Government for the overall development of the State.
He said about one thousand hectres of land is being compensated with funds running into hundreds of millions.
“Actually the payment is going to be based on the size of individual land, this is Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s way of ensuring equity and Justice”.
He commended the people of Yamaltu for their support and solidarity since the idea of the establishment of the Gombe industrial park was muted by the present administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Alhaji Nasiru Aliyu said the idea of setting up the Gombe industrial park in Yamaltu-Deba was consequent upon the availability of power, through the Dadin kowa hydropower plant, which is the main driver of industrial revolution.
On his part the Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Hon. Mohammed Danladi Adamu said during their various consultations with land owners, no group or individuals proved difficult in supporting the good intention of the Inuwa Yahaya’s administration of bringing economic growth and development to their area and the State as a whole.
The Emir of Yamaltu, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu said the establishment of industrial cluster in his domain by Governor Inuwa Yahaya is enough reason to attract the unalloyed support and loyalty of his people.
The royal father likened the leadership qualities of the Governor to that of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto, who’s political ideology was that of social, economic and educational emancipation of the people.
“You all can go to sleep, we are solidly behind the Governor and we are 100% in support of the industrial park establishment”.
Representative of the chairman of Yamaltu Deba Local Government Council said the people of the area have no choice other than to support opportunities such as this that will last for a lifetime.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Abubakar Diffa who was visibly happy with the turn of events, said Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has displayed a rare leadership quality which will linger on in their minds forever.

Praises State House of Assembly for expeditious passage
Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has signed into law, the 2021 appropriation bill of over 120 billion Naira passed by the State House of Assembly.
The appropriation Act has a total size of One Hundred and Twenty Billion, Three Hundred and Forty Six Million, Five Hundred and Thirty Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Twenty Six Naira, (N120,346,536,626.00).
The sum reflected an increase of Six Hundred and Eighty Two Million, Six Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira (N682,680,000.00) over the initial sum of One Hundred and Nineteen Billion, Six Hundred and Sixty Three Million, Eight Hundred and Fifty Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Twenty Six Naira (N119,663,856,626.00) proposed by the executive.
Speaking shortly after signing the budget at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Governor Inuwa Yahaya attributed the expeditious passage of the bill into law to harmonious relationship amongst the three (3) arms of government in the state.
“Last year around this time precisely on the 27th of December 2019, we signed the 2020 Appropriation Act and this year we did it much earlier.That means we are improving on efficiency and our processes and procedures are always improving in order to improve the lots of the people of Gombe State”.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya used the occasion to thank the people of the State for their support to his present administration and the House of Assembly for the effective and efficient way they handled the appropriation bill and other bills sent to it by the Executive arm, saying “this shows the level of synergy existing among the three arms of government.
He said his administration will continue to work assiduously to make sure that the greater chunk of the people’s resources go to them through judicious resource management.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the christening of the 2020 Appropriation as budget of resilience means a lot not only to those in Government but the entire people of the State. To this end, the Governor called on the people of the state to be more resilient cooperative and hardworking.
“Everybody knows the effect of the covid-19 Pandemic and what it has created not only within the Nigerian society but indeed the entire world and if we work hard enough to overcome the challenges we shall come out stronger more than ever before”.
In his remarks, the speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo said the budget was given expeditious passage because of its contents which he noted have given priority to the economic development and welfare of the people.
He said the 52 percent for capital expenditure and 48 percent for recurrent expenditure indicated a clear departure from what was obtained in the past where expenditure on governance outweighed service to the people.
The speaker lauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for concentrating on people-oriented projects, policies and programmes which he termed as the hallmark of inclusive governance that prioritizes accountability and transparency.
The budget signing ceremony was witnessed by senior government officials, including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, Speaker and members of the state House of Assembly, Secretary to the state Government, Head of Service, Commissioner of Finance, Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget, Planning and Development Partners Coordination among others.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has commisserated with the Ubandoma family over the demise of Alhaji Umaru Babagoro Mu’azu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and community leader who passed on yesterday at the age of 73 after a protracted illness.
Governor Yahaya led a government delegation to the funeral prayer held at Bubayero Central Mosque, Gombe Emir’s Palace.
In a condolence message, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the deceased as a close political associate, a dogged progressive and a community leader whose elderly advice and guidance will be greatly missed.
He said Alhaji Babagoro Mu’azu was a seasoned public servant who spent greater part of his life serving the nation before venturing into politics.
“He was a grassroot man, a community leader with passion to serve humanity”.
Governor Yahaya consoled the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the late Babagoro lived a life of service to Allah and humanity.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
Late Babagoro worked in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) between 1978-2006 where he retired after 35 years of Service as Assistant Director before venturing into politics.
He also served as Member Representing Gombe Federal Constituency in the 1988/1989 Constituent Assembly (CA) and was also the candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change ( CPC) for Gombe North Senate District April 2011.

Gombe state Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya earlier today hosted his Sokoto State counterpart, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who was in Gombe to commiserate with the Government and people of the state over the demise of former Military Governor of the old North-Western State, Alhaji Usman Faruk, Jarman Gombe who died 18th December, 2020.
Governor Tambuwal, was in company of Sarkin Yakin Binji, Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Abdulwahab who represented the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III and some senior government officials.
Upon arrival in Gombe, Rt. Hon. Tambuwal was received by Governor Inuwa Yahaya at the government house before being accompanied to the residence of the deceased by his host .
Governor Tambuwal described the demise of Alhaji Faruk as a huge loss not only to Gombe state or the North but to the entire nation considering the role he played promoting unity and growth of the nation.
He attributed the development in Sokoto state and 5 other north western states to the good and exemplary leadership Alhaji Faruk bequeathed and the foundation he laid when he served as Military Governor of the region.
Tambuwal recalled, “Anytime we invited him on issues bordering on Sokoto state affairs, he honoured us with his esteem presence and he had always offered advice and guidance that impacted very well on our governance and in making Sokoto state what it is today.
“His fatherly guidance and support had also strengthened us in managing situations in Sokoto state”.
” He was such a great father and a leader that we shall never forget “.
“On behalf of Sokoto state government, the Sultanate council and the entire people of Sokoto state, I condole with you over this huge loss and pray Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannat Firdaus”.
Governor Tambuwal also paid a similar visit to the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III where he condoled with him and the emirate over the demise of the elder statesman who until his demise held the traditional title of Jarma.
The condolence team also visited the residence of the late Alhaji Umaru Tsoho where Governor Tambuwal also commiserated with the family members over the loss of two of Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s uncles, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru and Alhaji and Shehu Umaru who died recently.
While in Gombe, the Sokoto state Governor equally paid condolence visit to the Chairman of Taj Bank, Alhaji Tanko Gwamna Ishiaku Gwamna who lost his mother, Hajiya Hajara recently.

The Secretary to the Gombe state Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has lauded Kamo community for its support to Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya led administration.
He made the remarks shortly after been presented with a letter of appointment as the Dallatun Kamo by a delegation of district head of Kamo Alhaji Nuhu Adamu in his office.
Professor Njodi who was visibly happy with the conferment of the title, described it as a demonstration of the community’s recognition of his contribution to humanity, saying honour will further cement the cordial relationship between him and the community.
While thanking the Kamo community for the honour, the SSG assured them that he will use his office to attract development to the community.
He appreciated the District Head and the Kamo Community for the recognition and pledge to justify the confidence repose on him by the Community.
Presenting the letter of appointment to the SSG on behalf of District Head, the Chiroman Kamo, Alhaji Muhammad Ngale who led the delegation appreciated the qualities of the Secretary to the State Government describing the chief scribe as a patriot and a lover of human development.
Muhammad Ngale said by virtue of the title, the SSG is now an adviser to the district head, urging him to play his expected role in the development of the community.

The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi have tasks the newly elected Chairman and Council members of Kaltungo Local Government to work towards improving the Internally Generated Revenue IGR of the local Government with a view to generate wealth and create opportunities for the Council.
The Gombe SSG who gave this admonition in Kaltungo at the handing and taking over ceremony of the Local Government Council, equally called on the revenue Officers to be fair and just in the the discharge of their duties.
Njodi lamented that Kaltungo is one of the highly indebted Local Government in the state calling for a collective effort towards improving on the Local Council finances in order to provide services aimed at bettering the lives of the people at the grass root.
“Kaltungo Local Government is the second most populous local government in the state. I therefore call on revenue Officers to bugle up and most importantly to fear God in the discharge of their Duties chairman and Council members together with our collective support should work towards salvaging the council by improving the revenue drive for better and effective services Delivery”.
While congratulating the chairman and councillors of the council, the SSG advise them to work as a team and closely with all stake holders to enable them succeed.

Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has projected that by the year 2030, Gombe state will be a terminus that will encapsulate growth, development, peace and shared prosperity for the entire citizens of the State.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya stated this while speaking at the Round-off Stakeholder Engagement on Gombe State 10-year development plan, stressing that the State has all it takes to think, dream and act big in order to achieve its objectives.
“We have a vibrant and industrious population, tremendous amount of natural resources, rapidly growing urban centres, relative peace and stability, huge agricultural and hydropower potential that can complement the desire of the State to be a model”.
The Governor said the State 10-year development plan is in agreement with the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs and the ‘Needs Assessment’ carried out by his administration on assumption into office.
“For us, what we did in the last one and half years and what we project for 2021 to 2030 which is exactly 10 years from now will make us actualize our dreams of taking Gombe to the next level”.
The Governor said the convergence of sons and daughters of Gombe State is a clear demonstration of their commitment and sacrifice towards the development of the State.
“There is no denying the fact that the preparation of the State development plan (2021-2030) is a critical milestone in the history of the State but while we produce a roadmap for the development of the State we ensure long term and sustainable plan that will facilitate the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals SDGs”.
He said the geographical location which places the State at the centre of the North East sub-region also makes it the nerve centre of trade, social and economic development, saying for the first time in the history of the State his administration is about to give birth to a document that will ensure programmes and projects that will be delivered efficiently in order to guarantee value for money.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya commended the Steering and Technical committees on the 10-year development plan for the effective and efficient manner with which they coordinated series of meetings with stakeholders at ward and Local Government levels.
“I also wish to thank the role played by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs and the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP throughout the preparation of the plan”.
The Governor equally thanked the United Nations Children Fund UNICEF and the United Nations Fund for Population Activities,UNFPA for their active participation on both steering and technical committees’ activities”.
He equally expressed his appreciation to eminent sons and daughters of the State who came to be part of the process or joined virtually, describing them as patriots, whose contributions will be of immense benefit to the development plan.
The Chairman, Steering Committee of the State 10- year development plan and State Deputy Governor of Gombe state, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau said the State Governor has cultivated a strong political will to ensure that the State is developed in all its ramifications.
He said the revolution in education, health, wealth creation, reduction in the rate of unemployment by the establishment of the industrial park and encouragement of agricultural activities in the State are all pointers to the genuine intentions of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to transform the State the more through the development plan.
The Deputy Governor said the plan is a comprehensive and articulated document that will guide development and provide a roadmap for future leaders on what to do when to do and how to do it.
In a virtual goodwill message to the occasion, the United Nations Deputy Secretary General, Amina Mohammed congratulated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya alongside the technical committee for producing the plan that she noted will guide future developments in the State.
She said the United Nations will work in partnership with the Gombe State Government to translate the plan into a working document that will be beneficial to the people of Gombe State.
Other Local and International UN Agencies who threw their weight behind the Gombe 10-year development plan include UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, SDGs office and the civil society network in Gombe State.
There was also a goodwill message from the first Military administrator of Gombe state, Group Captain T. I. Orji ( Rtd).
Eminent sons and daughters of the State, including former minister of FCT, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, former Minister of state on Power and Environment, Malam Murtala Aliyu and Surveyor Sulaiman Hassan Jara, DG NESREA, Prof. Aliyu Jauro, former PENCOM DG, Malam M.K Ahmad, the Sarkin Fulani of Gombe, Alhaji Umaru Kwairanga among so many others made far reaching contributions on how the ten year development plan can be translated into workable and practicable documents for the benefit of the people of the State.

The lead consultant for the Gombe state 10-Year Development Plan, Professor Emmanuel Onwioduokit, who presented the draft document before the audience, said the Gombe State Development Plan is predicated on facilitating longer term visioning for the state’s development planning and policy making.

Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has sworn-in the 11 Local Government Councils Chairmen, with a charge on them to ensure transparency in the conduct of their duties and live above board.
The swearing-in ceremony was sequel to the December 19 Local Government Election in which the governing All Progressives Congress, APC clinched all the 11 Chairmanship and 114 Councillorship Seats in the State.
In his speech during the ceremony, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said their election was in comformity with Section 79 sub sections (3) and (4) of the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission and Electoral (Amendment) Law 2011.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya who commended the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) for ensuring that the election was free, fair and credible, also appreciated the voters for their patience, orderliness and maturity during the exercise”.
The Governor said it is worthy of note that the victory recorded by the APC at the poll confirmed the level of acceptance for the people-oriented policies and programmes of his administration which enabled it to reach out to both its political friends and the opposition with a view to improving the situation, saying this has greatly reduced the level of political tension and enabled his Government to practice politics of development without the undue bitterness of the past.
” I strongly urge the Local Government Chairmen to extend genuine hands of reconciliation and partnership to all those who lost out in the electoral process, regardless of party affiliation.
“Let us all join hands in order to collectively contribute to the development of Gombe state”.
Governor Yahaya said his administration has successfully achieved its objectives of transforming the State in virtually all facets of human endeavours, expressing the hope that the new Chairmen will imbibe an open-door policy in order to raise the State to an enviable height that is worthy of emulation by other states.
“It is expected that you will sustain this tempo in order to justify the confidence reposed in us by the electorate”
He noted that Nigeria is facing the worst security challenge in its history, saying all necessary measures must therefore be taken to protect lives and property of the people.

“I implore you to use your wealth of experience in order to speedily move our Local Governments forward and provide the much-needed dividends of democracy to our people”.

“I charge you to be fair, equitable and just to all citizens irrespective of political or cultural differences. The relative peace and harmony that is prevailing in the state must be guarded jealously”.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya urge the people to cooperate with the newly sworn in Chairmen to enable them perform their duties effectively expressing confidence that with the quality of their pedigree and that of the party, the people of Gombe State will not be disappointed.
He warned that with resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic, which the world is gradually walking back into another lock down, the citizens of the State must therefore ensure that the identified protocols of minimizing its spread are adhered to.

Gombe state Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya will preside over a Round- off Stakeholders Engagement Session on the Gombe state 10-year Development Plan.
The State level consultative forum is sequel to series of stakeholder engagements at the unit, ward and local government levels.
According to the Chairman of the Steering committee and Deputy of Gombe state, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, critical stakeholders, including former governors, lawmakers, ministers, technocrats, bureaucrats, entrepreneurs, traditional rulers, religious and political leaders, development partners and members of civil society organisations are expected to share their ideas on the way forward for Gombe state.
The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Hajiya Amina Mohammed is expected to deliver a virtual goodwill message during the meeting.
The session will hold on Monday, 21st December, 2020 by 10 O’Clock in the morning at the Banquet Hall of the Gombe International Hotel.
It will be recalled that the Inuwa Yahaya-led administration has evolved a 10- year development plan which is intended to serve as a pathway for the state to be on an accelerated development trajectory in line with the vision of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to put the state on a solid development platform through a coordinated and orderly development strategy.
