Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has received a team of Research and Development Committee (RDSC) from the headquarters of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETFUND who are in the State for a high level interactive engagement.
Represented by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Governor assured the visiting team of his administration’s readiness to partner the fund in the development of Science and technology in institutions of higher learning across the State.
Ministries that took part in the high level engagement to fine the realization of the objective include Works and Infrastructure, Ministry of Higher Education,Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation. Others are, Ministry of Water resources, Ministry of Environment and that of Trade and Industry.
Earlier Speaking the Executive Secretary Tedfund Professor Sulaiman Elias Bogoro represented by Sir Henry Etiama said they are in the State to intimate the state Government on the proposed National Research Development Foundation which is aim at a paradigm shift on how Universities across the country conduct research.
He said move was part of Federal Government policy on exploring alternative revenue generation rather than the over dependence on oil.
The representative of the Executive Secretary of TETfund said the team will also discuss ways of improving the economy through research and development.
