MTSS Workshop: Gombe SSG challenges participants to utilize Knowledge acquired.

…. says Governor Inuwa is committed to actualizing Gombe 10 years development plan.

Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has challenged participants at Medium Term Sector Strategies workshop to utilize the knowledge acquired in order to help actualize the spirit and latters of the Gombe ten years development plan for the benefit of the people of the State.

Professor Njodi gave the indication while speaking at the workshop organised by the Gombe State Government in collaboration with the Nigerian Governor’s Forum and USAID State 2 State project taking place at the Gombe International Hotel.

He emphasized that the Medium Term Sector Strategies framework been developed at the sectoral level is by extension the implementation of the Development Agenda for Gombe State DEVAGOM which invariably forms budgetary allocation to the different sectors in the State going forward.

The SSG commended the Nigerian Governor’s Forum and USAID State 2 State project for providing technical support for the training which is critical to the realization of the goals captured in Development Agenda for Gombe State.

Professor Njodi equally lauded the Federal Ministry of Finance Budget and National Planning and Office of the Senior Special Adviser to the President on SDGs for deploying seasoned resource persons to help work out modalities for the production of the Medium Term Sector Strategies for the eleven sectors which forms the 5 pillars of DEVAGOM.

Earlier in his address of welcome the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Budget Planning and Development Partners Coordination Dr. Mohammed Ishiaku recalled that at the launch of the Gombe ten year development plan the Governor had emphasized the need to have a practical functional sustainable implementation framework to support the plan.

He said it was for this reason that the Gombe State Government approached the Nigerian Governor’s Forum and USAID State2State project in order to deploy it technical support towards the actualization of the Gombe State ten years development plan.

He said over the last two days participants were taken through policy goals and objectives development intervention and issues that has to do with prioritising and ranking in accordance with available resources.
