Studu tour: Course 44 of NIPSS Kuru visits Gombe Industrial Park, Dadinkowa Hydro Power project.

The Senior Executive Course 44 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru who where in the state for a Local Government study tour yesterday inspected the ongoing Muhammadu Buhari industrial Park Dadinkowa.

The Commissioner Ministry of Trade and Industries Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu who received and conducted the team informed them that the park is built on an expanse of one thousand hectres design to host small, medium and large industries mainly agro based.

Represented by the Director Administration and Finance Babaji Ahmed the Commissioner explains that the multi billion naira project will provide over 50,000 thousand direct and indirect jobs for teeming skilled and unskilled youths in state and beyond.

He disclosed that the project is conceived with the vision of industrializing the state to ensure financial independence in the near future and therefore called on potential investors to take advantage of the park.

The Commissioner said the Industrial Park project was awarded in six lots with the first covering 12 km road network, power, infrastructure and other ground works already at 45 percent completion.

Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu further explained that arrangement has reached advanced stage with the Federal Ministry of Power for the supply of about 20 mega watts of electricity from the Dadinkowa hydro power plant to ensure uninterrupted power to the park.

At the Dadinkowa hydro power plant the team was received by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Idris Buba Yambiyu on behalf of the Commissioner Alhaji Shehu Madugu

While the NIPSS participants were conducted round by the representative of operating company Engineer Jasmine Jayahara.

While at the Dam site the Area Manager Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority Engineer Caleb Tawana managers of dam explained that the Dadinkowa Dam is a multi purpose in design.

Engineer Caleb Tawana said the the components of the dam were to serve irrigation, hydro power and Water supply but regretted that since completion and commissioning many years ago, it has not been effectively put into use.

“We have abolish State/Local joint Account System”

…..Gombe Local Government Commissioner to course 44 of NIPSS Kuru.

Gombe State government has abolished the state and local government joint account system. This was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari Executive Order on local government autonomy, which seek to entrench good governance and effective service Delivery.

The Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy Affairs Alhaji Dasuki Jalo Waziri who disclosed this when he played host to Senior Executive Course 44 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru also revealed that relevant departments in Ministry undertake oversight activities of the councils in line with their budgeting provisions.

Alhaji Dasuki Jalo Waziri further explained that the challenges of government administration has to do with leadership recruitment processes which is always poorly handled and manipulated by respective Governors in power through the state independent Electoral Commission which limits the democratic space for competent persons to be elected.

He appealed to the NIPSS participants to look at some of the constitutional provisions that seems to muzzle the smooth operations of local governments in the country.

The Commissioner also informed the participants that the synergy between the local governments and the relevant security agencies has greatly advanced peaceful coexistence in the state.

He however noted with concern the failure by the political elites in realizing the key mandate of local governments in development architecture in the country calling for a rethink if the third tier of government is to function effectively.

The team which is led by a Senior Executive Course 44, Dr Emmanuel Sambo Mamman explained that they are in the state on a research tour to collect the necessary data needed for improved policy design and practical solutions to local governance in the country.

The team was also at the Gombe Local council and were received by the Deputy council chairman Idris Suleiman Garko who briefed them on the administrative operations and challenges faced by the council to include inadequate funding, lack of quality manpower and other resources required for effective service delivery at local level.

In the places visited the team interacted and engaged stakeholders on the theme of under study.

2023: VP Osinbajo In Gombe, Canvasses Support On Presidential Bid.

…”You Have The Capacity To Deliver Good Governance To Nigerians”, Governor Inuwa Tells Osinbajo

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential primaries, Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo visited Gombe State to canvass for support from party’s delegates and critical stakeholders.

On arrival to the State capital from the Gombe International Airport, the Vice President, in company of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, proceeded to the palace of the Emir of Gombe on a homage, where he intimated the royal father of his presidential bid.

He said, “We are not allowed to play politics in the palace otherwise I would have made a long speech, I only want to let you know that on April 11, I declared my intention to join the presidential race,” he said.

The VP said with the seven years experience he garnered under President Muhammadu Buhari, a man he described as a transparent leader, he is
now well exposed to lead the country in 2023.

He said: “Serving as Vice President in the last 7 years and also Acting President at different times, in a complex and diverse country like Nigeria, has given me the necessary exposure and the experience to weather the storm, especially as Nigeria transits from one civilian administration to another. And If God enables me to become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, all I have learnt will be extremely useful; So all I have come to do Your Royal Highness is to meet with delegates of our party, I will be interacting with them and explaining some of the policies and ideas that I have”.

Earlier in his remarks, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya praised the leadership qualities of Osinbajo, saying that the VP has the capacity to deliver good governance to Nigerians.

“We are patriotic, we want this country to progress and get to the next level we want to attain.

“I can boldly say it, these people you see in traditional regalia, and on the government side, and the crowd outside are really committed to see you actualise this ambition by becoming the next president of Nigeria by God grace.

“Gombe is a home to the VP for so many reasons; looking at the dynamics and the place, the cap fits you squarely and nobody can doubt that,” he said.

In his response, the Emir, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III said the visit of the Vice President highlights the strong friendship that exists between his office and Gombe Emirate in particular and the State in general.

The Emir of Gombe noted that the successes recorded under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will not be complete without attributing same to the Vice President, especially his role as chairman of the National Economic Council.

“Your interventions in areas of economic policies, especially MSMEs, Ease of doing business and other areas have left lasting impact on our people; you have maintained a track record of excellent integrity as legal luminary, religious leader and now a politician”.

The royal father prayed God to grant the vice President success as he goes about canvassing for support in his bid to emerge as the APC presidential flag bearer.

“You have vast experience and good attributes; you have maintained a track record, we are studying your humility and grace, we appreciate you and we pray for more success in all your endeavours,” the royal father said.

The Vice President later had a closed door consultative meeting with Gombe State APC delegates at the New Banquet Hall of the Government House.

Exchange Prog. Gombe State Government ferries first batch of 250 Students in 23 buses.

Gombe State Government has transported the first batch of 250 indigent students to 8 States within Northern Nigeria for the school Exchange Programme. The eight States include Plateau Benue Taraba Kaduna Kebbi Nasarawa, Sokoto and Kwara states.

Addressing the students before departure, the Commissioner of Education Dauda Batari Zambuk advise the students be of good moral behaviour while in their respective State of studies.

Represented by the Director Students Exchange Programme in the Ministry Audu Garba the Commissioner noted that the School Exchange Programme provides students from Gombe State and Northern Nigeria as a whole the opportunity to not only attain academic excellence but to cross fertiliser ideas, cultures, cuisine and above unity of purpose.

The Commissioner commended the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for shouldering the responsibility of transporting the students to various states across Northern Nigeria.

Dauda Batari Zambuk explains that that gesture has relief parents of the burden of transporting their children to various schools across the North for the School Exchange Program.

The Sole administrator Usman Mamman Kamara reveals that a total of 23 Gombe Line Buses have been assigned to transport the first batch of students to the 8 States.

Represented the Chief Driver of the Service Jauro A. Bello the sole administrator explains that the drivers of the State own Transport company have been given Orientation on how to maintain docurum and respect for the students while the journey lasted.

He commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his administrative dexterity towards the release of sound buses for the Exercise.

Earlier speaking on behalf of the parents of the students Ayuba Umar Mele thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for displaying leadership at a time when followers are in dire need of one.

He charge the students to justify the State Government gesture by been good ambassadors of Gombe State learning and character.

Ayuba Mele however appeal to the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to consider assisting students with stipend particularly at the point of been Transported back to the State capital as most of them ended up been stranded with no penny to transport themselves to their respective homes.

Governor Inuwa condoles with grieving families in Kaltungo, Shongom.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has commiserated with some bereaved families in Kaltungo and Shongom Local government areas.

Delivering the condolence message of the Governor, the Secretary to the State Government SSG, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi said Governor Yahaya was saddened by the shocking news of the departed souls.

He therefore called on bereaved families to take solace in the fact that only Allah gives and takes life and death remain the sure end of all mortals.

The families visited include that of Baba Mailumo, Alhaji Musa Usman, the ward head of Nasarawa in Kaltungo and Jonny Mukollo in Kwilishin of Shongom local government area.

Special prayers were offered for the reposed of the deceased and their families.

Governor Inuwa Condoles With Uban Doman Tangale Over Death Of Son, Yusuf Danlele.

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya ( Dan Majen Gombe) has sent his heartfelt condolences to Uban Doman Tangale, Mr. Timothy Danlele over the demise of his son, Yusuf, who untill his death yesterday, was a staff of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

The Governor, in a condolence message, described the death of the young banker as a great loss, not only to the Danleles or Tangale community but the State in general, lamenting that the late Yusf died at his prime when hopes and expectations were high on him from his family and community for greater heights and exploits.

He said, “the death of a loved one, especially a young star like Yusuf, is undeniably devastating for the family, close friends and associates. The death of Yusuf is indeed a huge loss to us all”.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Uban Doma and members of his family, the Tangale community as well as staff and management of the Central Bank of Nigeria where the deceased worked before his sudden death”.

The Governor prayed God, in his infinite mercy, to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and give those he left behind, the fortitude to bear the huge loss.

Governor Inuwa Commiserates With Health Commissioner, Dr.Habu Dahiru; Salbrix MD, Arc. Anas Adamu Over Losses In Their Respective Families.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has sent his heartfelt condolences to the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Habu Dahiru over the death of his sister, Hajiya Dija Dahiru Deba who died today after a brief illness.

The Governor, in a condolence message, described the demise of the retired staff of the State Ministry of Education as deeply painful and devastating, consoling Dr. Dahiru and other members of the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a life of service to her family, community and the state and left behind indelible marks.

The Governor also conveyed his deepest condolences to the Managing Director of Salbrix Nigeria Limited, Arc. Anas Adamu over the demise of his Aunt, Hajiya Hannatu Sa’idu Sarkin Kaji who died yesterday after a protracted illness.

Governor Inuwa described the late Hajiya Hannatu as a great mother who dedicated herself to raising her children as well as serving her family and creator.

The Governor prayed Almighty Allah to give the two families the fortitude to bear the great losses and grqnt the deceased mothers Aljannat Firdaus.

“We shall support Kaltungo People’s Progressive Foundation to achieve its noble objectives” Governor Inuwa.

……As Foundation officially kick start activities.

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has assured the Kaltungo People Progressive Foundation KPPF of continued support so as to enable it carry out its noble course of fostering unity and sustainable development in the chiefdom.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government SSG Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi during a ceremony to officially kick start activities of the foundation in Kaltungo, Governor Inuwa Yahaya Commended the founders for their foresight to bring the desired development to area in line with the vision of the state government.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya extend an invitation to leadership of the foundation for a meeting to identify areas that will require government intervention for the benefit of the citizenry.

He assured that his administration will work closely with the foundation to achieve its lofty objectives especially those directed at youth empowerment and emancipation.

In his remark, an elated Mai Kaltungo Engineer Saleh Mohammed praised the men and women behind the establishment of the foundation and assured them that he will personally mobilise sons and daughters of the chiefdom towards achieving the goals of the foundation.

The Mai Kaltungo also advise the leadership of the foundation to be prudent, transparent and accountable in the conduct of the its affairs.

The president of the foundation Reverend Luka Zakka Ture said the vision and mission of the foundation is to among others collaborate with relevant government agencies in ensuring drug free society, youth empowerment as well as inculcate good moral values among the youth.

Reverend Luka Zakka Ture disclosed that community initiatives that will support entrepreneurship for self reliance will also be encouraged to guarantee sustainable economic advancement of the people.

He said the foundation is non political, religious or tribal with a seven man board of Trustees drawn from all sections of Kaltungo chiefdom.

The Guest speaker, Dr Seni James Barka, Provost college of Health Sciences and Technology Kaltungo who spoke extensively on the the role of education in sustainable community development tasked the foundation and people of the area to pay serious attention to education as no meaningful development can be achieved where ignorance and illitracy prevails.

The flag off ceremony which attracted prominent traditional title holders, academicians, serving and former legislators also featured cultural displays and donations for the smooth take off the foundation.

Governor Inuwa condoles with P.S SSG’s office over death of his younger brother.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has commiserated with the Family of the Permanent Secretary SSG’s office, Mohammed A.Umar over the death of his younger brother Murtala Mohammed age 48 years.

Delivering the condolence message on behalf of the Government and people of the state, the Secretary to the State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi accompanied by the Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Bappayo Yahaya and the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) Usman Mamman Kamara said Governor Yahaya received the news with shock, admonishing the family to accept loss as the will of Allah.

Professor Njodi said, the government and people of the state are with them in their moment of grief and therefore prayed Allah to grant the deceased Aljannatul fidausi.

Responding on behalf of the family, the chairman, House of Assembly Service Commission, Suleiman Abubakar appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for identifying with them in their moment of sorrow.

According to the family late Murtala Mohammed a staff of Ministry of Works and Transport died yesterday after a brief illness and is survived by his wife, 3 children aged parents and relatives.

He has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
