NYSC Permanent Orientation camp to be ready soon, Gombe SSG.

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya says Nigerians stands to benefit from her diversity and collective patrimony if the different geo-political zones in country close ranks and work for the common good of the nation.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya made this known when he paid an inspection visit to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Amada to assess the challenges confronting the camp reminiscent of his youth friendly disposition.

Represented by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi the Governor charge Corp members currently undergoing Orientation not to see themselves as second class citizens of Gombe State.

He said as Nigerians they must be free to relate and integrate in any community they find themselves for their Primary assignment.

On the challenge of water and other teething needs at the camp, the representative of the Governor says Government is not unmindful of the challenges as it is doing everything necessary to address them.

To this end the Governor revealed that a new a brand new NYSC Orientation camp is over 70% completed as a replacement to permanent one been use by the Federal Government as a de-radicalization centre for repentant Boko Haram members.

He assured the Corp members that those coming after them may not have to use the Orientation camp at Amada but new one currently under construction by the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

Earlier speaking the Gombe State Director of the National Youth Service Corp Adah Imoni thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the inspection visit which she said noted will give the government an insight on how to tackle them.

She said the camp is challenged by lack water supply, bedding among other teething problems and therefore appeal to the Gombe State Government to come to their aid.

On the new Orientation the Gombe State NYSC remarked that when completed the camp will boost corp members intake to the State while providing a befitting Orientation camp for them.

The Gombe State NYSC Director Adah Imoni had earlier conducted the representative of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and his entourage round the camp where a total of one thousand two hundred and thirty nine corp members are currently undergoing Orientation preparatory for the one year mandatory service.
